WHAT HAPPENS?
It’s well accepted that soft-skills such as self-awareness, empathy, confidence and emotional intelligence are just as important as product knowledge for high performance in sales and business development, but that’s a skill-set that’s hard to teach in a classroom. In this programme, participants observe and interact with horses in a series of tasks related to the challenges they meet every day in a sales or business development environment. This will include how well they introduce themselves and make themselves heard, how they are perceived by others, their listening and negotiation skills, how they build trust, maintain a relationship, ask difficult questions, meet and deal with challenges, learn from success and handle rejection. Through their behaviour, the horses provide in the moment, non-judgemental feedback to participants, shining a light on how they’re showing up to the job of sales and how this is affecting their performance.
THE IMPACT
Participants become aware of the blocks, fears, thinking and perceptions they bring to the sales environment and how this impacts their performance. Equipped with a new level of self awareness and emotional intelligence they can make changes in their thinking and behaviour and how they view themselves or approach tasks. As the horses provide immediate feedback to these changes, participants physically experience the positive impact this has. This immediate bio-feedback is unique in the coaching space and gives participants an unforgettable embodied experience that they can draw upon again and again when back in the workplace. This is not just cognitive, classroom learning. This is half a ton of horse showing you who you are, and how you show up in the world. The impacts on sales performance are significant.
