Emotional intelligence is hard to ‘teach’ in a traditional classroom setting.
At Impact Coaching we believe Emotional Intelligence is a vital quality for surviving and thriving in the modern workplace.
There are many definitions of “EQ” but the core elements are recognised as Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness and Relationship Management.
Emotional Intelligence is however, hard to “teach” in a traditional classroom setting.
We design and deliver Experiential learning & development programmes for leaders and teams that involve interactions with horses.
What happens?
In our programmes, participants observe and interact with horses on the ground. There is no riding involved and no horse experience is required.
The way the horses behave and respond reveals without judgement, exactly what it’s like to be in the participant’s presence, what it’s like to be led by them, or to be in a team with them.
Once this has been revealed, participants can then practise different ways of relating to themselves and the horses, and witness in the moment the effect this has - and therefore the effect this would have on their colleagues in the workplace.
The learning is embodied and highly memorable.
The outcome is individuals who are self-aware and adaptable, can regulate their emotions, and relate to others with empathy, clarity and authenticity.
